What are the benefits to signing up with the Scholastic Reading Counts! e-Catalog?
A.
When you sign up with the Scholastic Reading Counts! e-Catalog, you can create, save, submit and remit orders for books that correspond to Scholastic Reading Counts! quizzes orders through our web site. An SRC! Username and Password also enables you to check the status of your e-Catalog orders online. These features are available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition, if you choose to receive our e-mail service, you will be sent advance announcements about Scholastic Reading Counts! products and services, and you will be eligible for special discounts and promotions.

Who should sign up with the Scholastic Reading Counts! e-Catalog?
A.
Scholastic Reading Counts! is a technology-based program that develops independent reading skills in K–12 students. Content components, known as assessment quizzes, are sold in through an annual subscription. To obtain or renew a subscription please call 1-800-387-1437. These quizzes operate with the Scholastic Reading Counts! software and are sold in electronic, not print versions.

What are the benefits of choosing to receive news about Scholastic Reading Counts! via e-mail?
A.
By choosing to receive our e-newsletter, you receive valuable monthly news about Scholastic Reading Counts! We will keep you informed of new quizzes as well as alert you to Scholastic Reading Counts! special event in your area. You can choose to cancel this e-mail service at anytime. If I do not choose the Scholastic Reading Counts! e-mail service, do I have to provide my e-mail address?
A.
We require an e-mail address because it is the most efficient way to contact you about your Scholastic Reading Counts! e-Catalog order. We need your e-mail address to send you a SRC! Username and SRC! Password and to confirm that we have received your submitted order, and to notify you about your saved orders. If you choose not to receive the Scholastic Reading Count! e-newsletter, you will not receive any news or promotional information about the Scholastic Reading Counts! family of products and services.

If I have already registered with Scholastic.com, do I need to create a different SRC! Username and Password?
A.
Yes. To create an order with the Scholastic Reading Counts! e-Catalog, you must sign up with Scholastic Reading Counts!. The Scholastic.com and Scholastic Reading Counts! e-Catalog Usernames and Passwords are not yet connected. For your convenience, we will e-mail the SRC! Username and Password that you create to the e-mail address you provide to us. Please keep your SRC! Username and Password handy for future visits to the Scholastic Reading Counts! e-Catalog.

I have forgotten my SRC! Username and/or Password. How can I sign in to the e-Catalog?
A.
If you have forgotten your SRC! Username or SRC! Password, you can ask for a reminder to be sent to the e-mail address associated with the account. You may also sign in as an "Existing e-Catalog Customer" by using your Scholastic Customer Number. Your Scholastic Customer Number is a 10-digit number that can be found on any of your Scholastic Book Club or Software Club monthly catalogs. If you do not know your Scholastic Customer Number, you can sign in as a "New e-Catalog Customer" by creating a new SRC! Username and new SRC! Password. We will e-mail your new SRC! Username and Password to the e-mail address you provide to us. Please keep your SRC! Username and Password handy for future visits to the Scholastic Reading Counts! e-Catalog.

Q.
At the top of my screen it reads: "For Order Subtotal Sign In." What does this do?
A.
For your convenience, we track the subtotal of your order. Each time you add or delete items to/from your order, you will see your subtotal change. If you have previously created an order with the e-Catalog, but have not submitted the order, you may sign in to view the subtotal of that order. Please note that the subtotal does not include shipping, handling or sales tax.

How do I start an order through the e-Catalog?
A.
The first step in creating an order using the e-Catalog is to search or browse through our product offerings. You can do this by using the options on the left side of your screen: Quick Find, Search Titles, Search Collections. For helpful hints on these features, please see the Search Tips.

Can you ship my Scholastic Reading Counts! orders to addresses outside the United States?
A.
At this time, we can ship rebound books to addresses outside the United States. We cannot currently deliver paperback or hard cover books to international addresses.

Q.
Are the prices and availability displayed in the e-Catalog guaranteed?
A.
From time to time, books go out of print, or are temporarily out of stock. We make every possible effort to fulfill all of your book orders within a reasonable amount of time. You will not be billed for any books that we are unable to ship. For all shipped items, you will be billed the price that is listed in the e-Catalog at the time you add the item to your order.

Q.
Can I order my Quiz selections on CD-ROM or 3.5" diskette through the e-Catalog?
A.
Quizzes ordered through the SRC! e-Catalog will ship to you on a MAC/Win hybrid CD-ROM. All Quiz selections (individual Titles along with Collections) will be shipped on one single easy-to-use CD-ROM. If you require your Quiz selections on 3.5" diskettes, you must place your order through our print catalog or through Customer Service at 1-877-COUNTS-1.

What discounts, if any, apply to purchases from the e-Catalog?
A.
There is a 30% discount on all paperbacks that is reflected in the posted price. All Rebound Book Collections receive a 30% discount that is reflected in the posted price. All individual rebound books will be discounted 30% once 30 titles are ordered. There are no discounts for hardcover trade books.

Do I need any special software to run Scholastic Reading Counts! Quizzes?
A.
Yes. These quizzes operate on Scholastic Reading Counts! software. You must have the program installed to use the quizzes. You can order the Scholastic Reading Counts! software through our Customer Service Staff at 1-877-COUNTS -1. At Check Out, you will be asked to verify that you already have the SRC! or EBS 5.0 Program Software. To determine which software package is right for you, click on the Learn More button on the Check Out page.

Q.
Can I save my e-Catalog order and submit it at a later date?
A.
Any order that you create is automatically saved for up to 90 days. There is no action required on your part to enable this feature! All you have to do is add the items you want to your order. When you return to the SRC! e-Catalog, your order will be there for you! Just sign in using your SRC! Username and SRC! Password and your saved order will display. You can then choose to submit your order, edit your order, or delete your order and start again. We hope you find this feature helpful!

Since orders are saved for 90 days, will I be notified before my order is deleted?
A.
Yes, if you provided us with an e-mail address, we will notify you that your order is still saved in our system and we will alert you before we remove your order from the SRC! e-Catalog. You can submit, edit, or delete your order at any time during this 90-day period.

Q.
Can I order Cataloguing & Processing for my Book selections through the SRC! e-Catalog?
A.
At this time, Cataloguing & Processing is available only through our print catalog or Customer Service 1-877-COUNTS-1. If you are ordering books with Cataloguing & Processing options, please place both your Book selections and your Cataloguing & Processing options through the print catalog or through Customer Service at 1-877-COUNTS-1.

Q.
How can I print the contents of my e-Catalog order so that I can obtain a PO?
A.
Once you have finished adding items to your order, click on Review My Order to generate an overview of all of the items you have selected. This overview provides a detailed look at your order and includes the subtotal. To calculate the amount for the PO, you should allow for 9% of the subtotal for shipping and handling, and add any applicable sales tax. To print the overview, click on the link that says Printable Version and then use your browser's print button to print out your order.

What Are Shipping and Handling Charges?
A.
Shipping and Handling for books, incentives, and manuals are 9%. Our Shipping and Handling Charges include our costs for customer service, processing and shipping, returns and exchanges, and some overhead. Rush orders are charged the standard Shipping and Handling Charges plus a $35 fee (Rush is 2-3 days for delivery). Shipping and Handling for training materials is included in the price of training.

Q.
Will I be asked to submit a hard copy of my PO even though I have submitted the PO number with my order?
A.
In most cases, we do not require that you submit to us a hard copy of your PO. However, we do recommend that you keep your PO for your records in the event that we might require further documentation from you.

Q.
How do I redeem special offers using a promotion code?
A.
After you have selected all the items you want added to your order, click the Proceed to Check Out button on the bottom right of your screen, or Check Out on the left side of your screen. In order to receive the special offer, you must enter the promotion code in the allocated space on this Check Out screen. Any cash discount will be automatically deducted from your subtotal. Any product offering will be automatically added to your order and shipped to you.

I am having trouble completing my order through the e-Catalog. How can I proceed so that I don't lose the work I have done so far?
A.
If you are having trouble with your e-Catalog order, you can call Customer Service at 1-877-COUNTS-1 (8AM to 5PM CST) and they can help you. Remember, any items you have added to your order will be saved for up to 90 days, so you shouldn't worry about losing the work you have put into creating your order. When you speak to Customer Service, they can instruct you on completing your order.

I cannot access the 877 area code for the Scholastic Reading Counts! Customer Service Center.  How can I speak to a Customer Service Representative about SRC!?
A.
You can also reach SRC! Customer Service by dialing the main Scholastic Customer Service number, 1-800-724-6527, and selecting option 4.

Checking Order Status
Q.
The status of my order is "Processing." What does this mean?
A.
"Processing" means that we have received your order and we are getting it ready for shipment. If we need any additional information from you, one of our Customer Service representatives will contact you by phone.

Q.
The status of my order is "Partially Shipped." What does this mean?
A.
"Partially Shipped" means that part of your order has already been shipped to you. Since software selections are shipped separately from book selections, most orders that contain both software and books will be indicated as "partially shipped." Once all items from the order have been shipped, the "Partially Shipped" status will be removed. You can expect to receive all available items within 60 days of the date you submitted your order. We will send a single invoice to you once all available items have been shipped.

Q.
If the status of my order is "Partially Shipped," how can I know which of the items have been shipped to me?
A.
To see the shipment details of your order, you must first click on Check Order Status on the left-hand side of your screen. You will see a list of all the orders you have placed through the e-Catalog. Click on the order number for which you want shipment details. You will then see a detailed outline of your order including the shipment status of each individual selection.

Q.
The status of my order is "Shipped." What does this mean?
A.
"Shipped" means that we have shipped to you all the available items that you have ordered. You will receive an invoice for all shipped items shortly.

Q.
I have already received some of the items I ordered through the SRC! e-Catalog. When will I receive an invoice?
A.
We will send a single invoice to you once we have shipped all available items from your order. Most items ship to you within 3-10 business days; any remaining available items will ship to you within 60 days of the date you submitted your order.
